Jouten walked alone through Hong Kong's central park silently. He still could not figure out where everyone was and he had felt like something bad had happened. Jouten thought back to Carmack and Jean's story about how they were trying to prevent a group of scientists from experimenting on live humans and they needed Zack and Jouten's help. Carmack gave them one month to think it over so Zack took a quick trip back to America to explain the situation leaving Jouten alone. " Things don't let up huh?" Jouten said smiling at how peaceful it was at the central park.

Rumor took a deep breath before walking up to Jouten. He turned his blindfolded eyes to Jouten looking at the taller boy. "I don't know if you heard yet but ... Yomiko died" he said his voice low and full of emotion though he had no real ties to her anymore since he knew the whole truth of everything and it haunted him now. "I didn't think it would be right to tell you in a letter so I came in person"

Jouten turned to face Rumor with a blank expression " You know.....I knew something was wrong. Just a feeling really" he said noticing the blind fold on Rumor " I'm guessing your battle also left you blind?" Jouten asked

Rumor reached up and touched the blind fold frowning. How was he going to explain this to anyone really? "I'm not blind I can tell where you are and see your face but my eyes cannot be used anymore for vision" he said hoping that would be enough for the taller boy. Sighing Rumor stepped forward before faltering and sliding to his knees. "I brought her knowing full well what was going to happen" he admitted a tear rolling from beneath the black cloth that covered his eyes.

Jouten looked at Rumor in pure disbelief " You what!? Rumor why would you do that!" Jouten yelled taking a step towards Rumor.

Rumor sniffled rubbing his nose with the back of his sleeve. "The future runs in all kinds of directions for those that can see it and I needed one where you wouldn't be hurt" he admited the tears coming faster. "I had to let Yomiko, Sai and even Eden die for my selfishness and I knew it was happening I saw them die every time I thought about it for months almost and then I had to watch them actually die" he cried out his voice broken like his spirit.

Rumor fell back on his butt cringing. He had been expecting this but didn't think it would happen. "I made a choice" Rumor chocked out tuning over to spit out some blood onto the ground. "It was you or them and while there were other choices the consequences were worse and worse and I could deal with it I took the easy way out" he managed to get out between sobs. "I can't do it anymore Jouten I can see things still and I don't want to!" He screamed loudly scaring the birds from the trees nearby.

Jouten looked angrily at Rumor " I don't know what your talking about but its should have been me you choose Rumor! Its not like i'm special or anything. My life should not be valued above anyone elses!" Jouten shouted tears running down hos face.

"Do you know how hard a choice that was Jouten!? I had to pick peoples lives the ones to save and the ones to sacrifice and its not something I wanted to do!" he yelled sitting back on his feet his head turned back as it started to rain. "If I didn't know the outcomes I would have chosen the same anyway and I wouldn't be haunted knowing I was the one that took her there, I asked her to fight for me and I knew she would die. Its not easy knowing these things"

Rumor turned to Jouten his lip trembling. "I just .. I can't lose you not yet at least" he said softly his tears still flowing freely as he looked down waiting for the yelling to continue. He knew that he would outlive Jouten that was the curse Immortals.

Jouten turned away " Rumor I can't blame you for knowing but...I'm just letting you know I don't believe in a set destiny. Rumor I once said I would not die until I achieved my dreams. That dream is world peace I realize now. A certain somebody knew that we are not bound by whats written in a book. I want to show you a world like that Rumor if your willing to wait. A world with no violence" Jouten said turning around with his usual big grin.

"I can see what is written, what can come to be, what will come to be if things stay as they are and things I can only hope will come to be" Rumor said sadly standing up slowly. "Just please don't leave me behind I don't want to be left behind any longer" he said hugging Jouten loosely wanting the contact but not knowing if it was okay.
