“You best not underestimate me either!” Elias spat out defiantly in response to the man’s questioning before smirking and waving his hand “I got a plan…one that I know will work.” He honestly didn't know if he had it in him to try this plan when he had been out of the mage's life for years but if it could keep him sister alive then he had to at least try.
The group then proceeded to take off into a sprint towards the closest church in the city. As they reached the holy grounds Elias stood in front of the church courtyard as Mia and the man went past him “Don’t leave the holy grounds no matter what, not until I’m finished with them.”
“Brother…you’re not planning on using that after all this time?” Mia asked with a hint of worry. She knew her brother hated combat, magic, and the supernatural, which meant his current bravado had to be some kind of facade.
Elias took a deep breath as he watched the three wraiths appear in the distance. 'Damn they resurrect fast. Guess I won't have much time to mentally prepare.' he thought to himself as all three closed in on his location. When they got about a hundred feet away from him they started slowing down and showing hesitation which was no surprise since as torrents of chaos they could sense the holy ground behind him. He took a few steps forward to egg them on before pointing towards his chest "What's the matter? Don't you want to eat my soul?"
The provocation was all the three wraiths needed as they howled into the night sky and swarmed him, his body becoming completely swallowed by the shadows.

The boy's outburst did nothing to endear him to Eden who began thinking about killing the young man just to save himself the time of dealing with whatever it was that he wanted to do. His sister was willing to go along with her obviously weaker more abrasive brother which Eden found interesting. If she was so okay with following him then there had to be some kind of reason for that which he was at least faintly interested in finding out.
In the end, he decided to continue on with them for at least a little while longer and followed after the pair as they ran to the nearest church. Once on the holy ground, Eden stood right on the edge of the barrier it gave watching them closely. The two seemed to talk about something vague after the boy gave them some kind of order. It was astounding that he continued to think it wise to instruct someone who he knew nothing about. The girl standing with him on the holy ground seemed worried about her brother's plan and the boy himself didn't seem to sure of what he was going to do.
Eden sighed to himself as the boy taunted the wraiths toward him. Deciding that this was enough Eden stepped forward of the holy ground. He began uncoiling the tight control he had on his magic reserves letting the power show more and more until it got the attention of the wraiths who were quick to change targets. Once he had their attention Eden began moving about leading them on a small chase around the surrounding area. During this, he pulled out his phone and after a few swipes began reading something from the screen.
"Regna terrae, cantata Deo, psallite Cernunnos, Regna terrae, cantata Dea psallite Aradia. caeli Deus, Deus terrae" he began the words clear and precise. Once he started the exorcism the spirits chasing after him began howling in pain their attempts to attack him increasing as they began to fight for their existence. While using such a long incantation was rather annoying he didn't want to waste the extra time finding one more specific for them so a powerful all-encompassing incantation was the least time-consuming route for him. "Aradia ipse fortitudinem plebi Suae. Benedictus Deus, Gloria Patri, Benedictus Dea, Matri gloria."
As the incantation finished the wraiths burst into bright blue flames their howls reaching new heights as they burned away. Once they were gone Eden stopped and put his phone back into the pouch on his half apron turning his attention back to the two mages. Since neither of them had been able to come up with a plan that they felt comfortable with his interest in them had dipped considerably. He briefly wondered if he should just dispatch of them before realizing that even that would take to much effort on his part and the two definitely were not worth more of his time.
"If that is all please excuse me," he said finally adjusting his glasses before turning and walking back in the direction they had come from putting the whole event out of his mind almost instantly.

Elias realized that the man before him was on another level as he quickly dispatched the wraiths with an incantation exorcism. Perhaps he could have been a mage on par with the man if he hadn't gave up his training and powers but honestly he found no reason to associate himself with this world anymore. 'Guy is kinda a pompous asshole...reminds me of someone else I know' he thought ignoring him as the man walked away from both him and Mia.
"Brother possession isn't the way to go...especially for someone out of practice like you." She stated bluntly as she walked past him with a downcast expression "I'm guessing you won't be coming home with me..."
Elias diverted his eyes as he found it hard to look directly into hers "I can't...not after what happened. I'm sorry Mia...you can come visit me though." he replied hopeful that her expression would soften.
Mia lightly smiled and closed her eyes "I might take you up on that soon big brother...though you might not like the trouble I bring with me." she said as she waved her hand and began walking away. He stood there watching with shame as he came to the realization he couldn't even protect his 11 year old sister and even had to let her walk home alone.
