Mitsu Chiba was a very powerful yet very sincere Shinigami. Born into the noble Chiba family, she was destined for great power and great respect. When her sister Rei came into the family, Mitsu was one of the few that helped Rei feel loved. After graduating from the Academy, Ruhiko Chiba told the two of them to train and harness all the powers of their Zanpaktou. Mitsu began to notice that her sister was excelling at a much faster pace that herself. A rivalry entangled itself between the two of them, though that rivalry never seemed to get out of hand. Mitsu went off to train in a secluded home away from the Seretei and for 8 years, she trained countless hours. Eventually, she returned to the workings of the Soul Society. Her first day back was greeted greatly, but there was one person who was not really impressed by her return. Alexei Arsenta was an upcoming Shinigami who liked to talk and fight. He challenged Mitsu to a battle, which resulted in a draw after Alexei could feel the equal distance between them. Alexei began attach himself to Mitsu. Mitsu preferred being alone, yet when Alexei was under the impression that no one could be alone. As time went by, Mitsu began to develop a genetic condition where the soul could be reborn similar to that of a phoenix. Her mother had died of this condition sooner than expected. Overtime, Mitsu began gradually losing strength. In an attempt to hide it, she accepted another challenge from Alexei. However, he could see that her body was soon to fail. Alexei highly insisted stopping but Mitsu gave him no choice. In one of the most regrettable acts Alexei had ever committed, he rendered Mitsu incapable of continuing the match but at a heavy price of draining what little strength, she had left. It is contested as to whether or not she would have lived a bit longer had she not fought that day. Eventually, Mitsu passed away right next to Alexei and left him distraught. He could not understand what had happened and to this day, many still doubt that he has completely understood. At her funeral, he said, “My storm has come to rest I will meet you again once my tide has finally fallen for the last time. Your tide collapsed too soon, but you will rise again someday. Sleep well in Heaven, Angel of the Monsoon.”
Now, it is put to rest.
Now, it is put to rest.
