Fearsome Past

[Eden]

Rumor stood in the main branch of the library at the end of long hallway hidden beneath the ground. Bodies lay around him slowly turning the floor blood red. In front of him was a large ornate door older then the building itself though not as old as he was. He slowly outlined the carving on the door with his finger sighing loudly. He looked back down the hallway at the bodies he had to cut through to get to this point. To the point where the Library didn't want him to get. Pushing open the door Rumor slipped into the room before closing it behind him. The room was just as ornate as the door with only a pedestal dominating the center of the room.

The book was large and looked like the book that he had retreived from Doukusensha though this one seemed to be surrounded by a darker aura. It also seemed to be pulsating giving of a faint heart beat from its sealed pages. The books cover was a mixture of colors from brown to pale white random pieces having been sewn together to make it. In the middle of the cover was a red eye ball that continued to swivel around looking at the room before focusing on Rumor then doing it once more.

Approaching the book Rumor could feel its power reaching out to greet him. The touch from the book made him sick to his stomach and while he felt the urge to flee in every cell of his body he stayed put taking small steps towards the book until he was right in front of it.

"What is it you seeeek" a voice asked the eye ball finally resting on Rumor not looking away anymore.

Rumor took a few minutes thinking about how to answer the book before deciding. "I want what I lost when I took up home in this place. I want my past back so that I do not need to be tied down to the people here" he said his voice shaking slightly though he couldn't tell if it was from fear or excitement.

"Granteed" the book seethed out its lock popping open as the book swung forward its pages flipping wildly as light poured out of it. A shrill scream issued from the book before being joined by more and more before finally the book took its full effect causing what felt like Rumor's head to split open adding his screams of pain to the rest of them.

When the screams and light finally faded from the room Rumor was left panting on the ground with a huge headache. "Lies" he said softly looking up at the book to see that it was now gone. "All of it was lies" he whispered the walls cracking with spider like distortions appearing on the walls. Rumor slowly stood as the pedestal was lifted from the ground and smashed into a wall. "All lies" he stated turning to the door that blasted off its hinges causing large cracks to run down the length of the hallway. As Rumor walked the bodies on the ground began to disintegrate and burn. leaving scorch marks while the walls caved outward and the ceiling pushed up the stone breaking and letting go in parts to cause cave ins behind Rumor. As he walked up into the British Library more members of the Library arrived shooting at Rumor only to have the bullets fly off of a barrier that surrounded Rumor. Without even thinking the bodies were destroyed all of their lives ended in a blink of any eye as power coursed around the room. Pillars fell walls blasted out and the ceiling fell down. As Rumor walked the building was destroyed until finally Rumor stood outside squinting into the sun light. With one last look at the building Rumor was gone.

From above Mister Joker was looking down upon the scene letting out a long breath once Rumor was gone. "I don't think he can be left alive any longer" the man said slowly turning to the other occupant of the room. "He is out of control"

The girl nodded her jewelry clinking as she stood up. "We take care of our own master Joker so please do not worry yourself about Rumor any longer" she said smiling at the man as she clinked her long nails together. "I am sorry that he wasn't able to full fill your desires of him but I will make sure the next boy will do everything you ask of him." with her final words Mister Joker smiled. It was good having her helping him and soon it would only be a matter of time until the world would be his .. all it took was his soul in trade.
