He finds himself in conflict against members of an organization named Salvation who seek to cause a devastating war through human experimentation and stealing souls. After a battle with a revived Mr.Gentleman, Jouten experiences a great leap in power but also realizes that there's another consciousness in his mind. A new level of power was discovered in the battle against Phoenix, a power once wielded by Shunketsu (Jouten's former life). Jouten has since given this transformation a name, Aura Mode. History continued- Jouten in a mission with Rumor meets a mysterious cat claiming to be his guardian angel. He learns his soul might not belong to him 100 percent and starts experiencing lapses in his power. After a few more missions with his friends Zack, Carmack, and Jean they start encountering Salvation members like Kain, Zane, and Waltz and learn more about the enemy. Jouten and Zack begin formulating a plan to bring down Salvation once and for all by using a high powered airship. After nearly getting captured by two members of Salvation Zack decides its safer for Jouten to go into hiding until his powers stablize. Aaron removes Jouten's bracelet and informs Jouten that for a little while his powers will be sealed but they will eventually return stronger then ever. Jouten goes to Tokyo to stay with his adoptive sisters Michelle, Maggie, and Anita who are also staying with Rumor. Jouten on a walk home from school meets a girl named Aiko who he quickly develops a crush for and they become fast friends. Jouten gdts home in time to see Rumor leaving Tokyo with Yomiko and Nancy and is suddenly attacked by Waltz who reveals his powers can control gravity. Jouten manages to regain control of his powers in the death fight against Waltz. Their fight is cut short when Waltz is taken away by his master Nitas. Aaron shows up to inform Jouten he has training for him and that with it Jouten might have a shot at stopping Salvation once and for all. Aaron takes Jouten to an ancient cave to train and help him connect to who he once was, to gain total control of his own powers. Nitas the leader, has Salvation make their move and attacks all the countries of the world with their army. Jouten manages to finish training within a week and returns to Tokyo just in time. There he meets and battles Waltz, managing to barely win with his new abilities. Jouten then fights Taihou and show cases his new Railgun ability, helping capture Taihou and ending the battle while Nitas shows Rumor his powers. After the battle Hoa reveals to Rumor he his alive, while Jouten, Aiko, and Hideaki form a plan to break into Dokusensha and gain valuable information. At the same time Carmack discovers something wrong with the governments of the world and tries to tell everyone, before vanishing into the night, unable to be found by Zack. Jouten and his friends throw their plan into motion and invade Dokusensha, only to discovery Dokusensha has been manipulated by Kain, a member of Salvation. Jouten, Rumor, Aiko, and Hideaki all attempt to fight Kain in the lower levels of Dokusensha, but Kain show cases his Dragon Eater ability while claiming to have absorbed Carmack's powers. The battle shifts as Jouten and everyone is teleported to Zack's airship where an epic battle takes place. Zane, an old friend of Zacks and the brother of Rex, faces down Jean who has recently started a relationship with Zack. Zane kills Jean without remorse, while Zack finally catches up only to hear Jean's last words said to him. The battle is ended when Salvation retreats and everyone is left crushed, more so Zack then anyone else. While Zack seeks power and revenge through his father, Jouten seeks Aaron out to get answers about to do next. Jouten learns that he is the reincarnation of a guardian who battled Nitas long ago, and the only thing keeping Nitas in check is the current guardian Nagataka. Jouten is informed if he wants to make it to Salvation's base he has to get his comrades and friends together by midnight of the same night, or else his chance will close and the end of the world could come. Jouten takes off to gather his friends and encounters Hoa, who he hasn't seen since there battle. Hoa reveals he has changed his stand on humans, and agrees to help Jouten save the world. They take off on their familiars only to be blocked by Nitas himself. Jouten and Hoa team up battling Nitas, and after nearly dying Jouten manages to kill Nitas, who reveals that he will get a new body and become stronger then before. Jouten has Hoa take him to the cave where he trained, where he reveals the water in the cave has healing properties but only in the cave. With a strengthened resolve Jouten sets out with Hoa to end the battle once and for all.
