After serving his time he attempted to return home to Sparta but found himself marooned on the island of Thule which had the odd power of moving throughout time at random leaving the island a random assortment of things from all different ages. Since the island of Thule was known to be the final resting place of King Arthur many a brave warrior sought it out giving Ryuu a large number of powerful skilled warriors working under him. When he was asked by a powerful paper master named Susan to let her stay on his island he agreed but a stipulation was that he would help the British Library if it ever needed it. That is how he became the leader of the V branch that was dedicated to studying all forms of battle and becoming the strongest warriors in the world.
