Countdown to the end 5: Death then gone

A giant mass started gathering in the North Atlantic Ocean. Countries from around the world watched as something caused massive tidal waves and storm clouds grew overhead. People from around the world watched the news on their local stations trying to understand why what seemed to be the biggest storm of the century, suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Little did they know it was the first sign of a greater danger. A danger that could wipe out life, and maybe all of existence. It was the beginning of the end.

Rome 2:34 PM

Zack walked slowly through Rome trying to keep his balance as another earthquake went off around him and buildings around him began to collapse. A taxi drove up to Zack and the driver's window rolled down and Rex stuck his head out " This is bad. From all the information we gained, they were not supposed to strike this soon"
he said as Zack ran around and jumped in the passenger side of the taxi. Zack took out his cellphone and began to type in some numbers, but nothing happened " Damn I should of realized that there would be no service. Just hurry Rex. We need to make it to where Zane and Kain are. If we don't we're all going to die."

Zack turned his head to see a group of men with guns stand in there way as they began to open fire, " Shit Rex this isn't good. It looks like Salvation has sent there forces out again. Just how the hell did they get this many people!?" he shouted as Rex quickly sped the taxi up and ran the men over. Rex kept the tax moving when Zack grabbed his shoulder " We have a problem". Rex saw a giant of a man in body armor covering every inch of his body. The man had a rocket launcher in his hands and he fired it the taxi. Rex quickly turned the wheel " Hold on tight!" he shouted as the force of the explosion flipped the taxi about a dozen times. The taxi eventually came to a cold stop with dust blocking its view. The man with the rocket launcher took aim again, making sure his targets were dead.

As the man with a rocket launcher poised his finger over the trigger to kill his opponents he noticed that a shadow was slowly creeping over the city around him. He watched as it came closer and closer to him and once it finally passed over him he looked up at what could be casting such a large shadow as to block the sunlight from the entire city. There in the air was what looked like a giant floating city. The layout was simple with a large wall around the outside then houses circling inward and upward to a large castle that dominated the center and took up at least half of the space that now inhabited the air above Rome. "Impressive isn't it?" a females voice said softly behind the man toting the rocket launcher. "Its a good last sight for you" she said before slamming her fist into his back sending out a large electric current that fried the man inside the armor instantly. As the dead man fell forward Susan clapped her hands together a few times smirking. "Hello boys thought you might like a lift"

Zack slowly pulled himself out of the taxi and the pulled Rex out behind him. Rex looked around " How did we survive that. The force of the taxi flipping should have mangled our bodies." he said. Zack wiped the sweat of his face " I used one of my force field barriers. It actually managed to save our lives, but from the look of things it seems she did too" he said pointing towards Susan. Rex stood up looking in awe at the floating city " You see something new everyday".

Susan laughed a little walking over to the two. "Its really not new at all I'm sure the floating city is older then all three of us" she said jokingly. "Its one of the only two places we have where the current seismic problems don't effect us that much" she explained looking up at it smiling fondly.

Rome 2:45 PM
US Airforce Base.

Cries of pain could be heard from miles around. One of the few remaining American soldiers screamed " Die you monster!!!" as he began to fire his machine gun. Suddenly half his body was devoured in an instant by a Dragon like creature. The rest of the man fell down in bloody pieces, while a nearby man wiped the blood off his hand " You should feel honored mortal. You are now a part of me through my Dragon Eater. Its almost time to begin. Carmack should have placed the absolute territory power of the mind game here in Rome. That will by us the time to complete Nitas' final goal" Kain said as Zane walked past him. " What is Nitas' final objective? How do these attacks and the 4 highers of Salvation come together?" he asked. Kain smirked " Well I may have started out weaker then the 4 of them but Nitas has continued to grant me power and now I am the only one who can carry out the plan. We have to move faster though if our plan is to work. Tokyo is our next stop. Taihou and Gengi should have already begun the attack there" he said confidently.


Tokyo 3:04 PM
Local Bookstore.

A large quake unlike anything Tokyo had ever felt before shook through the city, knocking down even entire buildings. Aiko tried to hold on to the chair next to her but it flew into a nearby wall and broke apart. She finally managed to make her way outside only to see buildings in flames and Salvation soldiers gunning down civilians. Aiko quickly grabbed about six books out of her bag and formed a familiar in the shape of a human but it was about 3 times bigger. " my guardian type familiar. I guess its a good time as any to show off my training." she said as the soldiers noticed her and fired. Aiko jumped out of the way and her guardian appeared behind the 4 soldiers and cut them in half instantly with a stop sign post " Don't think I would let any of you bastards live after this. Unforgivable" she said with a growl.

Aiko spun around as a hand grabbed her shoulder " Hey calm down Aiko. I know your mad but thats a little too much" Hideaki said with a concerned tone. Aiko took a deep breath and nodded. She knew she shouldn't have reacted by killing those men, but her memories kept flowing back up of what happened 10 years ago, what happened to their parents. Hideaki grabbed Aiko's right arm " Come on Aiko. We can't wait around and hope Jouten will show up. We have are own agenda with these Salvation goons" he said as they took off in a sprint.

Fenir looked out over Tokyo from across the bridge and wiped the sweat from his brow. He had battled through nearly a 3 dozen soldiers just to get near the city. Apparently they were trying to close off the city from the outside world and kill everyone inside. " Aaron didn't tell me it would be this bad. I guess our former friends really want to cut off ties with humanity" he said as he got back on his motorcycle. He needed to get moving if he were to help anyone inside the city and the way things looked, It didn't seem like Jouten was going to make it back anytime soon. He slowly pressed the gas and took off across the bridge.

In the midst of the chaos, two figures are seen running through the alleys of Tokyo as more explosions go off around them. " Damn it this doesn't seem good. Where the hell are the reinforcements!?" Hideaki yelled. Aiko put a hand over his mouth " Shh. We don't want to attract any more attention then we already have. Remember what you told me earlier?" she said. Hideaki nodded and removed her hand " We need to find a safe place then, or we are going to end up dead" he said. Aiko suddenly got an idea " What about the school? Theres an underground bomb shelter below it." she said. Hideaki smiled " I agree sis. Thats probably the best place to go" he said as they took off in yet another sprint.

Fenir made it across the bridge as a explosion went off beside him. He was thrown from his motorcycle, but he managed to land on his feet unharmed as he created a giant paper hammer and swung it around and took out about 5 soldiers next to him. He looked around and noticed he was in a wide open area. ( Perfect. I guess I am an open target for any attacker) he thought as he began to run down the street. Suddenly a massive black orb appeared in the sky and lowered to the ground. Fenir looked at the orb and took a fighting stance ( I have no idea what that is, but no doubt it has something to do with Nitas, who controls various forms of darkness) he thought to himself and he took out more paper. Slowly a man walked out while pulling off dance moves. The man was wearing sunglasses, had a shaved head, and was wearing a business suit with a blue tie. Fenir realized right away who it was as he watched the man walk completely out of the orb. " You.....died" Fenir said sweating now more then ever. " Did I? Really you should have realized that even if I started out as an ant, my research is now complete" the man said laughing. " Damn you.....Waltz" Fenir said taking a step back.

In the middle of Tokyo bay only a few ships were left floating the rest having been beached or sunk by the battle ships that were left in the wide expanse of water. The soldiers on the ship were taking it easy letting their guard down since there was no sign of a water attack for miles and the sonar on the ships showed nothing but small fish here and there. "Glad we got stuck with this easy job" the captain said aloud sitting in the chair he had put behind the steering wheel. Everyone else in the room agreed with him loudly everyone except one person who was sitting silently in front of the sonar watching it with large eyes. Slowly from behind them out towards the ocean the screen was becoming fully green. "Captain there is a large mass moving in from the sea" he yelled out turning to his captain. "You might want to take a look at it" he stuttered out turning back to the screen to see that the large object had now taken over half of the screen. "Its probably just a big fish" the captain said laughing it off.

The scared sonar reader quietly stared at the screen in front of him until it had expanded to take up the entire screen. A few minutes after the ship began to rock back and forth violently as the water around it became rough with waves. Everyone in the room quickly ran to look out the windows to watch in horror as the three other ships were raised out of the water and smashed into the coast being carelessly tossed into buildings. Around their ship the water began to boil over steam fogging up their windows in only a few seconds. "Do you think its just a big fish now captain?" the sonar man asked sarcastically right before the entire ship and crew was turned to ash as a giant pillar of fire that shot up into the air. The fire expanded outward before diminishing leaving a large hole in the water for a few seconds that two cloaked beings jumped out splitting into separate directions.

Tou moved quickly through the city moving his way to the outlying area following the directions Rumor had given him only minutes before. He knew what it was he was looking for as he neared a bridge that looked to be the place a small battle had happened not long before his arrival. Slowing down a little Tou jumped up onto a building getting a better view of the situation before making his move.

Aiko ran past several soldiers and slid under a bush next to the school gate. Hideaki followed closely behind making sure not to make any noise. He crawled under the bush next to Aiko " We can probably climb the gate from here. Though be prepared to fight our way through sis." he whispered. Aiko nodded taking out some paper from her bag and replied " Then lets go while we still can. I don't think we can hide much longer anyway"

Fenir continued to back up as Waltz moved forward " What do you think of my new power? Its been awhile since you have seen me, right Fenir?" Waltz asked while smirking. Fenir jumped forward to attack him but suddenly he was upside down and falling about 50 feet in the air. Fenir quickly flipped himself around and formed a paper wolf familiar under him to break his fall, while Waltz stood in the same place with an amused look on his face ( What the hell was that? That wasn't a gravity type move) Fenir thought. Waltz took another step " Your probably wondering what happened? How did you suddenly end up falling through the air?" he said as he began to walk towards Fenir faster. Fenir jumped off his wolf familiar and quickly changed it into cloud of paper and sent it straight at Waltz. The paper cloud continued to rip up the ground as it neared Waltz " Ah I remember. Your better with paper then Jouten. Your one of the strongest paper masters in the world along with Hoa and Rumor" he said. Fenir smiled and kept the tempest of paper going towards Waltz. The paper cloud was about to slice through Waltz but the air quickly changed. Fenir realized he was now in front of the paper tempest while Waltz was behind. They had switched places! Fenir attempted to stop it as it hit him head on. After the paper final stopped Fenir fell to his knees. He was cut up pretty badly but not enough to say the wounds were mortally dangerous. Waltz adjusted his sunglasses and walked right up to Fenir, standing over him " It seems your not good enough to fight me, I mean you almost beat yourself" he said with a smirk. He quickly raised his right hand and a katana formed. Fenir looked up in shock " You summoned your weapon? That means you have one of the dimensional weapons" he said trying to stand up. Waltz nodded his head " Yes your right about that. Dying can do wonders. To bad it won't be the same for you. Now perish" he said swinging the katana at Fenir's head.

Aiko managed to beat down the last guard with her familiar and turned to see how Hideaki was doing. He used his paper nunchucks and hit a soldier directly in the face. The soldier yelled in pain and started firing his machine gun. Hideaki wrapped his nunchuck around the man's right arm and then pulled, forcing the man to shoot himself instead. Hideaki unformed his nunchucks and ran over to Aiko who was standing in front of the entrance to the school. " We need to get inside now. The passageway is in the basement through the teacher's lounge" Aiko said pushing open the front doors. Hideaki suddenly grabbed her shoulder and she stopped " What? What are you doing Hideaki" she asked. Hideaki pointed past Aiko and she saw a man standing in front of them, wielding a scythe. " Hello little girl, i'm guessing your Aiko Hiroshi. My name is Gengi Takuki and I have special orders to play with you" he said with a sneer. Hideaki walked in front of Aiko and held out his arms " Over my dead body. You have to go through her older brother first" he said forming his paper nunchucks. Gengi quickly swung out his Techno-scythe at the boy " I can arrange that!" he shouted.

[Eden]

Tou sighed to himself before lifting his sword up and stabbing it into the ground muttering under his breath. "Shadow strike". Below him as Waltz raised his sword the tip of his own reached up from the ground right through the older mans foot. Pulling the blade out Tou sank into his own shadow before emerging back out using confusion of his first attack to pull Fenir out of harms way and put a little distance between them and Waltz. "Sorry I took so long to get here Rumor was putting on a pretty good show in the harbor and I just couldn't pull myself away" Tou said smiling as if nothing was really going on.

David slowed down once he was sure he was finally out of Tou's line of vision. "Such a bother" he complained shoving his hands in the pockets on the front of his cloak. "I don't see why any of this is our problem to deal with" he whined strolling down the empty street hoping that the people he was supposed to help would be dead by the time he got to where they were. His luck turned against him then when he over heard a conversation going on in a near by school yard "Oh damn he said the stupid girls name" he said in a bored tone.
