The Rise and Fall

At a giant mansion like castle in the middle of the ocean, a battle takes place on the grounds...........

Jouten held his stomach to try to stop the bleeding, breathing heavily. The sky was now filled with fire, and soldiers were battling with demonic looking creatures on the ground.

"Well this went from bad to worse in a matter of moments" Jouten said as he coughed up more blood. A loud shot was fired and a man fell over next to Jouten, dead. Jouten turned his head and saw Carmack standing there with a gun.

"Jouten we need to pull out now. You, Zack, and everyone else pretty much wiped this place out, but your mission to rescue me and stop Nitas will fail if we all die anyway." Carmack said pushing his hair back and firing off another shot, killing a black dog like creature.

Jouten pushed himself off the ground and placed a pill in his mouth, and then began to run in the direction of the castle.

Carmack grabbed Jouten's right arm ; " Jouten your body won't be able to hold up much longer, even if you take those drugs!" he shouted

"I need to go! Or people are going to die. Nitas is still fighting Aaron and the others. I got to re-enter the battle." he shook off Carmack's arm and continued his sprint towards the castle.

Carmack sighed ; " Well this has turned into a battle unlike anything we have ever seen."

16 hours previously........

Zack looked around him and saw that the crew of the airship was moving into the airship as quickly as possible. he turned his head and saw that Jouten had formed his paper hawk and so he walked over ; " Jouten, I take it your going to try to get there first? Pretty gutsy move"

" I know its stupid, but I have been developing my powers nonstop. I should be able to put up a fight against those bastards now. If everything that we had been doing up to now wasn't leading to a moment to attack them like this, then what the hell were we doing?"

" Hey i'm not saying we're dumb or anything for doing this. Its just that our goal is to rescue Carmack, who saved our lives more than once. If we go in guns blazing, he may get killed before we can reach him"

Jouten sighed ; " Don't worry I have a plan. Plus If they wanted Carmack dead than they would have done it already. Kain even went as far as to tell us he was dead. That must mean they need him for something, probably to alter reality to their advantage"

Zack nodded and started walking back towards the airship ; " Good luck with that then. I wish you luck on the battlefield"

Jouten smirked and jumped on his familiar, taking off towards the Atlantic ocean.

The ocean waves became larger, nearly 200 feet high as an object appeared before Jouten. He looked out in the distance and saw an island, or at least it appeared to be. A giant castle, nearly mid evil looking was in the dead center, with a giant wall separating it from the rest of the island. He had his hawk paper familiar speed up, he was going to charge in head on and hopefully get to Carmack before they could counter attack.

Something suddenly whirled by Jouten's head, and he turned and saw the phoenix that were in the battle of Tokyo weeks before hand. There were about 4 of the fiery birds surrounding him, but he wasn't about to be killed by the mindless animals.

One phoenix attempted to bite off his head, but Jouten ducked and shot a Sourge right through its middle section. The bird howled in pain and descended while the other Phoenix all closed in on Jouten, shooting out fire. Jouten jumped off his familiar to avoid the flames, and aimed a Rail Gun right where the 3 birds were grouped together. He let out the beam of electricity and incinerated the birds instantly.

He took more paper out of his pockets and formed another familiar underneath himself, and continued towards the island. Suddenly the phoenix he injured earlier flew by the spot where he killed the other phoenix, and let a stream of flame behind itself. The flames covered the ashes and began to shape the bodies of the birds again. The 3 dead Phoenix sprang out of the flames, completely revived from Jouten's previous attack.

" Crap that's right, the beings of rebirth. Guess I just gotta ignore you" he said as the birds kept charging him.

He noticed he was just outside the castle grounds, so he teleported to where the gate for the wall was, distancing himself from the Phoenix. Jouten looked up in the sky and saw that the Phoenix were flying away from where he was, apparently they had fulfilled their role.

He felt the steel gate in front of him with his left hand and formed a paper sword with the other. The gate was quickly cut in multiple ways and Jouten rushed inside.

As soon as he was inside he saw that there was a small army of soldiers inside, nearly a thousand. They all held guns and full body suits of armor, and helmets protecting their entire faces, looking eerily like Storm Troopers from Star wars. As they all turned to see Jouten, he knew he wasn't going to get out of this situation unscathed.

" Bring it! I'm going to kill every single one of you Sons of bitches!" he yelled charging forward with his Speed burst, electricity charging in his hands.

Jouten blasted through the soldiers with ease using his Sourge ability. Jouten looked around and realized that their were to many of them to fight all at once, so he dodged their rain of bullets and ignored them. He ran towards the castle as suddenly something blew up right in front of him. He looked up as the smoke cleared, revealing a dog like robot, completely made out of steel and it had piercing red eyes.

" Holy crap. I knew they would have weird ass things guarding their base, but even for Salvation, this is pretty sweet. To bad I have to destroy you". Jouten then jumped up and raised his hands, preparing to blow away the dog with his Railgun. The dog's red eyes then began to shine, and nearly instantly fired off a laser-beam. The beam barely missed Jouten's head, and continued further down the courtyard, where it hit a group of soldiers and exploded. The after effects of the explosion could be felt throughout the entire grounds, causing the soldiers to start panicking. Jouten turned his head back towards the Dog, trying to think of a way to approach it.
Suddenly the ground opened up around him, and 3 more Dog creatures jumped out from the hidden doors. Now completely surrounded, Jouten took a deep breath.

" Nice Doggies. I only want to kick your master's ass."

Jouten aimed his hands at the ground, and fired off a Railgun sending high into the air. The dogs below him growled as he smirked.

" Sorry I have no time to play with you, this ends here"

He once again aimed at the ground and fired another, more powerful Railgun. The Dogs' howled as they were consumed by the fiery explosion. The spectacle attracted the attention of the remaining soldiers, who began to run in Jouten's direction.

He landed, and begin to sprint towards the castle mansion's door with all his might, dodging an outstanding amount of bullets whirling past his head.

Jouten slammed right through the giant front door, and then quickly shut it behind him. He took a deep breath and noticed it was completely silent. He turned to get a better look at where he was, and noticed he was standing in a room with 3 doors, and stairs heading down towards the basement level areas. The walls were lined with portraits of various people he has never seen before, though they are looked like they were part of some royal family.

" This island probably belonged to someone else at first, and then Salvation took it for itself."

Jouten then began moving towards the doors, deciding he would save the basement levels for later, and just concentrate on checking everything above ground first.

He though he would try each door one at a time, but then realized that some of the doors might be traps. He sighed, and after thinking it through, decided to move through the door all the way to the right. He turned the doorknob and quickly stepped through into a very strange sight. A very dark hallway, and about a minute of walking down it he was in some kind of tunnel system, that went off either right or left. Both ways were equally dark, so there was no way to know exactly which way would lead to his destination.

He took the right path on instant alone, since he had time to try guessing, or any friends around to try to solve the problem together. He felt a presence a little further down the tunnel, but he continued to walk down the path, while keeping his head down. After about 20 minutes of walking, he stopped right there in the dark.

" Oh ho, you noticed I was here. Very good for you, since it seems like you improved somewhat, you might have a better chance at living." a voice called out to Jouten.

Jouten smirked as the tunnel was suddenly lit up from every direction, and he could see a white haired man standing in front of him, " I knew you were here all along. If you took the time to wait here for me though, you must of known I would be here as well, isn't that right Taihou?"

Taihou started laughing; " This is a serious treat! Getting to fight you again after what you did last time will be perfect. I will not go as easy as I did before, boy" he said spinning his hell hound guns around in both his hands.

Jouten took his usual martial art's fighting stance, with one arm extended in front of him and one tightened up in a fist, but with a different look on his face from usual ; " Nothing will go like it did before. I'm sick of screwing around with Salvation, I'm here for my friend, and if you get in my way Taihou, you will die."

Taihou laughed and brought both his guns together ; " Well then, lets see you try"

Energy shot out from around Taihou, and he was now standing there with his Dread GunBlade, his level 2 form. Jouten only smirked as Taihou jumped up and swung his GunBlade down on Jouten.

Jouten took a small sheet of paper out, sharpened it and blocked Taihou's blade from slicing through him. Taihou suddenly drew back his blade, and began to gather red energy. He then fired off the shot nearly point blank at Jouten's head, but Jouten lifted his left hand and easily knocked it out of the way, right into the ceiling behind him.

Jouten took a deep breath ; " I guess its my turn now, isn't it?"

He dashed quickly around Taihou, who then began to fire off miniature red energy blasts that began to chase Jouten. Jouten once again knocked them all out of the way with a single hand and then elbowed Taihou right through the wall of the tunnel. Jouten quickly stepped past the rubble and realized that he had knocked Taihou into a very open white room, probably where some experiments took place.

Taihou wiped the blood from his face ; " Very nice show, I guess you have gotten better, but that's not going to be enough for this battle"

Jouten shook his head, and raised both his hands ; " Then show me what you mean, and you better do it fast" he said in a low tone as he fired off an enormous Rail Gun right at Taihou.

Taihou laughed crazily ; " I was waiting for you to do that!" he shouted as he spun around his Dread GunBlade rapidly and reversed the direction of the energy blast right back at Jouten.

( Damn, don't have much time) Jouten thought as the blast was about to hit him. The resulting explosion left a cloud of dust, and utter silence.

Taihou continued his laughter ; " Wow, what an idiot! He thought he knew all my moves, but as soon as I pull out something he hasn't seen before, he bites the big one. Guess Kain had nothing to worry about after all"

Suddenly the smoked cleared and Jouten walked out, surrounded by Glowing lines of electricity that formed a cage ; " Ramuh's lightening shield. The only person I showed this to was Rumor, so don't worry, I have plenty of tricks left myself" he said with a grin on his face.

Taihou mumbled and then shouted ; " I will kill you! No matter what Jouten, you will taste your own blood and choke on it!"

They both rushed at each other, Jouten blocking Taihou's Dread Gunblade with his sharpened paper. Taihou let go of his gunblade and it started flying though the air, firing off energy blasts at Jouten. Taihou threw at kick at Jouten as the energy blasts continued to fire, but Jouten sliced though each energy blast with ease, grabbed Taihou's leg, and threw Taihou into the nearby wall of the tunnel. The Dread gunblade started rapidly spinning and flew straight at Jouten, who quickly turned around and cut it with his bare hands. He stuck the blade right near Taihou's head, who jumped back up and pulled out his blade. Taihou once again rushed at Jouten.

Jouten shook his head ; " God your annoying. Time to show you the difference between us"

He took a step towards Taihou, and suddenly appeared behind Taihou. Taihou turned around in shock, and then noticed the blood exploding from his chest from a massive cut. He fell down clutching his chest, trying to stop the bleeding, and angrily looked up at Jouten.

" What the fuck was that!?"

Jouten looked down on Taihou, holding the bloody sheet of paper he cut Taihou with ; " That was Kirin Fu Zan, my fastest technique. You can no longer keep up with me Taihou, so just tell me where Carmack is, and I will let you live" he said calmly.

Taihou punched the ground and then started laughing ; " I refuse to surrender, I will fight until death. Here is my ultimate move, I don't care if this whole place goes down with us! Death Zone!" he shouted as his Dread Gunblade turned into dust, floating though the area.

Jouten took a step back ; " Its just like last time. Not good". He thought back to the explosion that it caused last time, and suddenly got a idea.

" Well is that all!? I didn't think you would accept your death that easily" Taihou said as the dust finally covered most of the area.

Jouten opened his eyes, which were now bright red, and thousands of miniature swords appeared and sliced forward. The dust suddenly faded away, and Taihou was left standing there stunned ; " What did you do!?" he asked.

" I realized that when your Dread Gunblade separates, it doesn't become dust, it becomes a bunch of miniature bombs. All I had to do was destroy every single one before you could explode them, which was easy to do with my True power. Now Taihou, lets finish this" Jouten said forming a two handed broadsword.

Taihou quickly re-summoned his Dread Gunblade and prepared to block Jouten's attack, but Jouten's blade suddenly was surrounded by Electricity, and as he swung his blade, a giant blast of the electricity was sent straight at Taihou. The blast cut right through his Dread gunblade, and hit him dead on, slicing through his chest. Taihou coughed up blood and glared at Jouten ; " Damn you. I will fucking kill you, even if I have to come back from the dead to do it.....". Taihou's sentence was cut short and he fell down into a pool of his own blood. Jouten looked down at the man with pity, but he was now in a war, and there was no time for second thoughts.

" I wasted enough time here. Time to get moving" he said as he rushed down the darkened tunnel, leaving behind the figure that was Taihou lifeless on the ground.
