The coffee shop was almost completely dead which left a lot of time for the employees to mess around doing other things. The two girls that were on shift sat at one of the tables in the corner looking at things on one of their phones and giggling every once in a while. Eden stood stoically with his tray next to the coffee bar ready for the appearance of any customers. Behind him Blaine was leaning on the counter building a structure out of sugar packets while sneaking glances at his co worker every few minutes.
“Did you do anything fun last night?” Blaine asked out of the blue surprising even himself with his sudden outburst. While he did actually enjoy being around Eden unlike most of the other coworkers they shared he had given up for the most part on trying to initiate any kind of conversation with the other man since it never usually got very far.
“No.” was Eden’s simple reply proving Blaine correct. If the other man was surprised at the question he didn’t show it, at least not in any way that the older man could see.
“So ummm …. Do you like music” Blaine asked toying with a bit of his bangs. He had recently dyed his hair a bright shade of blue that he was slowly losing interest in and thinking of dying it again already.
“No, I don’t really understand it” the other man replied not even turning around. The fact that the response was longer then one word was amazing to Blaine and he perked up almost immediately. Eden had even given him a bit of a reasoning which was the most conversation the two of them had ever had. Blaine quickly started going over all the things he wanted to say about the topic in his head trying to figure out the best place to start.
Right as he went to open his mouth though the appearance of a customer put a damper on the situation. While Blaine would have easily been able to continue any conversation with his other coworkers he knew that Eden was very dedicated to his job and there was no way he was going to get any responses from the man. Instead the blue haired man straightened up putting on a pleasant smile easily falling back into the attitude he adopted when working.

A lone child wearing a hoodie walked down the street past numerous adults, none of them noticing her in their daily commute as she was small enough to go unnoticed. It was the next morning after the incident with the Wraiths and Mia decided to skip school and try to investigate where the creatures could have possibly come from but so far she had absolutely no leads. She brushed her hands through her black hair roughly, something she did when she felt lost, but quickly regained composure as she pulled her hood up. ‘Elias would be a lot of help right now…’ She thought as she yawned unexpectedly. Mia felt bitterness towards her brother for still refusing to come home but at the same time she understood why he maintained his distance.
"First thing's first...I need some caffeine...or else I'll pass out on the job." She stated aloud as she spotted a coffee shop on the opposite side of the street and calmly walked towards it. She was glad most people ignored her and didn't make a big deal about her walking around town during school hours, she would hate to resort to using some kind of memory altering magic on civilians. As she entered the shop she noticed a blue haired man smiling at her which immediately caused her to shrink back a bit. She disliked overly enthusiastic people and this man looked too happy at his job. She would have walked out of the shop if she didn't spot the grayed haired man that she encountered just last night.
"...I'll take a latte with extra steamed milk."

Eden perked up a bit when he noticed the aura of the customer before he had even seen her. It was doubtful that she had found him at work so the coincidence seemed almost ironic to him. He stood there watching her as she approached the counter and placed her order. She seemed frustrated about something and a little bit on edge though what either of those emotions were a result of he couldn’t figure out.
“Sure thing young lady” Blaine responded jumping into action as he began to make her specified drink. While he probably should have asked why the girl wasn’t in school he understood and respected almost all young rebelious types since they reminded him of himself at their ages. There were some years when he would end up playing hooky from school more often then he ever showed up.
“If you want to take a seat Eden will bring your drink over to you once I’m done” he continued giving her a dazzling smile that seemed almost rehearsed in its perfectness. At the sound of his name the gray haired man bowed slightly before returning to standing their silently.

“Alright then” Mia replied as casually as she could as the blue haired man told her to take a seat. His smile still bothered her with how fake it seemed. She was initially shocked to see the gray haired man from the night before but she chalked it up to an assassin job needing some kind of cover. She took a seat at a lone booth and waited for her drink to be brought to her, still debating internally if she should pretend not to know him or not.

Blaine was able to quickly craft the girl’s desired beverage as if it was second nature creating a near perfect end result without any effort. He often times wished for someone to really challenge him when it came to his job so he would at least have something more interesting to occupy his time other then Eden.
Once it was done Eden loaded it onto his serving tray before proceeding over to where Mia had seated herself. He placed it down along with a napkin before giving her another small bow. “If you need anything else miss just call” he said before turning around heading over to where Blaine was once more.

By the time Eden had brought her drink over to her and told her to call if she needed anything Mia had already made up her mind "Why don't you sit down and talk with me mister? I could use some company while enjoying my drink." She said with a slight smirk as she lightly sipped her latte. She was a bit surprised by how good it tasted since the green haired man seemed so fake on the surface but she figured she could at least complement the man on a job well down once she was finished.

Eden stopped mid stride as he processed the words that she had spoken. While her request was not something that fell under his normal duties he was instructed to assist the customers in any way. After a small battle in his own head Eden turned around and walked back to the table taking the seat across from her before folding his hands in his lap and sitting there perfectly straight backed.
At the bar Blaine felt his mouth actually fall open. While the young girl didn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary her ability to get Eden to sit down was mind boggling. The blue haired barista felt a number of emotions go through him but the biggest one that was forcing itself to be known had to be that of jealousy. He had never managed to get his coworkers attention but this child of all things had done something he could only dream of accomplishing. He secretly wished that it was busier so that this act would not be allowed to continue in front of him.

“Oh, I didn’t expect you to actually do it. Well then mister would you like to exchange information? I’m curious about who you are.” Mia stated as she took another sip from her latte as she watched Eden intently. She wasn't sure why the blue haired man was seemingly glaring at them but it only proved to her that his smile was fake.

Eden tilted his head slightly to one side narrowing his eyes at the young girl sitting across from him. “If you didn’t think that I would actually sit then why would you waste the time asking me to do so?” he asked. “I am also unsure as to what kind of information you would find necessary” Eden added as an afterthought.

Mia shifted and laid her head back on her seat “I guess I just like teasing people like you when I’m bored." she replied bluntly as she narrowed her eyes "But since you seem willing to comply then I would like to know what group you work for. If you can't do that then tell me if you know anything about what might have let those Wraiths loose in this city. As mages it's our duty to keep things like that away from non magic folks." She stated a bit more seriously.

The girls point of the question was lost on Eden since the answers were not anything that would actually help her but she was still a customer so the gray haired man decided that he needed to do his best to comply with her wishes and that meant answering her. “I don’t work for any particular organization. Last night I was working for a mage to kill one of his escaped experiments. As for the identity of who would have brought the wraiths into the city …” he began falling silent as he thought about the best way to answer her. It wouldn’t have been hard to track the source of the creatures but he hadn’t bothered since they were a poor attempt at an attack. Controlling the number of Wraiths that they had been at the same time however did point to the fact that the person behind the attack was most likely on a power level above the girl sitting across from him. “I don’t know if it was anyone in particular. Sometimes creatures of all sorts find their way into the city when the need drives them. It could just be a case of being in the location at a certain time and just happening upon them” Eden finished unsure as to why he was trying to protect the young mage. Her fate had no effect on him so influencing it did him no good.
Across the cafe Blaine was starting to simmer quietly. Not only did this girl have the audacity of ordering such a simplistic beverage wasting his masterful crafting ability but now she was talking to his Eden. Not only that but in the small amount of time they had been talking she had managed to get more out of him then Blaine had ever heard the other man speak. While he knew that it was a good thing for Eden to have friends it was annoying him beyond belief that it wasn’t him that the gray haired man talked to that way. He closed his hand around his phone in his apron pocket chewing on his lip while he thought about what he should do.

Mia felt herself growing annoyed the more the man spoke and seemingly dodged her questions like he was looking down on her "Listen here mister, just because I decided to give you a treat by spending time with you doesn't mean you can feed me crap." She stated coldly as she glared at him "There's no way those wraiths just found their way into the city and if you won't help me track them then I do have other means. So much for saving time." She said with a sigh as she slammed her empty latte cup on the table and began standing up.

Blaine growled to himself as the girl began telling Eden off in her obvious annoyance. He pulled his phone out and began looking for a specific song while also looking under the counter for the chord that would let him utilize the speakers in the cafe. The girl had hit his last nerve and he wasn’t going to let her talk to Eden that way.
Across the cafe Eden was experiencing a strange bit of confusion. At first he didn’t understand why it was that she decided to refer to her presences as a treat. If anything her showing up both the night before and currently had been nothing but a nuisance for him. His confusion only seemed to strengthen though as she continued on. While he wasn’t well versed in lying Eden didn’t believe that she had any reason to not believe what he had told her. He had been careful enough to speak enough truth that she shouldn’t have been able to figure out that he was trying to mislead her. Figuring it best to let her leave so that he could begin to try and figure out the situation without her presence Eden remained seated.
Once Blaine had the song queued up and his phone was plugged in he put his plan into action. As he hit play the speakers crackled to life emitting an up tempo song. Reaching down he pulled his magic to the surface and began singing. “I want you to want me, I need you to need me, I’d love you to love me …” he began his words weighing heavily in the room as his magic began to emanate in waves affecting everyone within the cafe. The song combined with his power brought up people’s emotions of love, caring and respect and forced them to feel them all towards Blaine. With this he was easily able to manipulate people into thinking he was a lover, family member or dear friend.

As she was about to walk out of the store Mia turned around and felt strange as her thoughts concerning the person in front of her changed completely. She felt some affection that wasn't there before, like he was a long lost loved one she had forgotten. She approached Blaine as her eyes began to tear up "Why...did you leave?" she began as she went in for a hug. Suddenly she felt her emotions waver and her anger rise as her right hand became a fist and decked him in the face "HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!?" She shouted at Blaine now confusing him for her brother as tears streamed down her face.

It was very obvious that his song was not working out the way he had been hoping almost immediately. Love songs were usually complicated and resulted in unforeseen results. The two girls that were working were now sitting in the corner with flushed faces and one of them was continuously winking at him which made him feel uncomfortable. Eden had stood from the table he had been sharing with the girl her empty cup placed onto his serving tray. Blaine wasn’t able to figure out what the other man was feeling though since the young girl who had been the target of his song had begun crying as she moved towards him. His voice wavered slightly as she came into hug him further distorting the spells effects and allowing the girls anger seep in as well. He closed his eyes tightly as her fist came at him.
The hit never came through and after a few seconds Blaine opened his eyes to see what had happened. Eden was now standing there with the same neutral face that he was always sporting. One hand was still holding the tray with the empty cup while the other was wrapped tightly around the young girls wrist holding her fist mere inches from his face. Blaine stood there with his mouth slightly open confused as to just how everything had gone wrong. The girls emotions had gone in directions he never could have predicted while Eden seemed to not have been affected at all. The second realization really worried Blaine since the song should have brought out even the smallest amount of emotion from even the most heartless individuals so for Eden to not show any signs of anything was chilling.
“I think that is enough” Eden said coldly his gaze sliding from Blaine to Mia. “Thank you for visiting, please come again” he continued giving the small girl a slight bow as he released her wrist and began walking away from her towards the back of the cafe. Blaine gave the young girl one quick look before letting out a startled noise and following behind Eden quickly not wanting to be left alone with the prospect of being punched by someone so much younger then him.
